About Me
My name is Steve Burrow. This web site has been developed to serve as a professional bio and personal hobbies blog. Although I’m now retired, perhaps my knowledge and experience with global Information Technology products and services may prove useful to those in engineering or executive leadership roles. A detailed overview of specific areas of expertise is available upon request. If interested, use the Contact Me link located on both the top and bottom header menus.
Additionally, you will find interesting content here related to a few of my favorite hobbies including ham radio, home server and networking lab for hosting apps and web sites, and a home recording/music production studio. Be sure to browse the “My Hobby Blogs” link located on the menu above. While you’re here, you can read about the FMEA methodology, outlined briefly below, used by top-tier technology leaders.
My career was focused on Enterprise IT Leadership and Program Management, driven by the utilization of predictive analytics through FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), a Lean Six Sigma approach for recognizing and reducing service operations & delivery risks. As such, this site offers a humble collection of sample tools and templates that you may find useful in your leadership position within IT service delivery organizations. You will find quick-links to download program/project life-cycle PowerPoint presentations, FMEA tools for assistance with documenting and prioritizing business concerns common to today’s enterprise IT organizations, and other valuable management tools created for use with any project initiative. These documents and templates can assist IT project/program managers, technology directors, or executive technology leaders to better understand risk-cause, risk variables, and most importantly, velocity risk reduction factors which can play a key roles as you prioritize service/initiative delivery models.
More about the FMEA Method;
Failure Mode and Effects Analysis is one of the most popular Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce variability and reduce risk in both the end product or service that is delivered to the customer, and the processes that make or deliver it.
FMEA is used to:
- Reduce development time and cost to design any system, product, or process
- Continuously improve the quality, reliability, and safety of any system, product, or process
- Anticipate quality problems, and take actions to minimize risks
- Prevent recurrence of problems surfaced though 8D problem solving and corrective action reports
- Prioritize risk reduction efforts
- Assess the effectiveness of efforts to control variability
- Improve customer satisfaction
